Cois Cladaigh BOCSI arts group will work with Creative Ireland & Galway County Council to make a series of sculpted totems that can be enjoyed in our communal garden and outside spaces.  We will experiment with mixed media, ranging from cardboard, papier mache and clay.  Inspiration will be drawn from shapes and textures of our local Connemara landscape.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

This theme could be expanded out to encompass indoor sculpted installations, such as mobiles to be interacted with and enjoyed by individuals in our centres.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Secondly we will<\/span> make a series of masks based on our own identity and belonging.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Our artists will make a series of self-portraits, observing ourselves in drawings and paintings and how we see ourselves.<\/span> <\/span>These will then be reimagined as masks, using a range of materials such as cardboard and papier mache to sculpt and decorate.<\/span> <\/span>Our artists will have the opportunity to partake in a dance\/  performance piece, wearing their masks and expressing themselves further through movement and music. <\/span><\/p>\n
