Sruth\u00e1n is a collaboratively created zine emerging from Sruth<\/em>, an arts and ecology project rooted in the Lickeen Lough catchment in North Clare. <\/p>\n

Developed through conversations, workshops, and creative exchanges with local residents, farmers, the Down to Earth Collective, and environmental practitioners, it brings together text, drawings, reflections, and documentation responding to the lake, its surrounding lands, and the shared water system connecting the community.<\/p>\n

Led by artist Maeve Collins (Ground Up Artists Collective) with Eil\u00eds Murphy (Folded Leaf), the project explores the relationship between culture, land use, and water stewardship. Contributors, including Students of the College of FET Ennistymon Campus, local land stewards, and wetland specialist Feidhlim Harty, reflect on lived and ecological knowledge of the catchment that supplies drinking water to around 15,000 people in North Clare.<\/p>\n

Sruth\u00e1n (\u201clittle stream\u201d) will launch on 16 August 2026 at a gathering beside one of the many sruth\u00e1ns flowing to Lickeen Lough, featuring poetry, music, movement, and storytelling. Bilingual in Irish and English, it highlights local perspectives and intergenerational exchange while foregrounding the lake and its sruth.<\/p>\n
