Since opening in 2025, the Courthouse has welcomed entrepreneurs, creatives and community groups who have activated the space and created a connection point for locals of all ages through a range of activities and events. With a paucity of affordable local venues available for these kinds of activities, the Courthouse has quickly become the first point of contact to host classes, workshops, meetings, gatherings and rehearsals.&nbsp;<\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span><br \/><span lang=\"EN-US\"><\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span><br \/><span lang=\"EN-US\">Groups who use the Courthouse for their regular programming have been invited to join a Courthouse Collective with the aim of formalising and encouraging sustainable community participation in the future programming of the space. The formation of the Courthouse Collective allows for broad civic engagement through regular programming by and for Portumna residents.&nbsp;<\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span><br \/><span lang=\"EN-US\"><\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span><br \/><span lang=\"EN-US\">With the support of Creative Ireland funding, member groups of the Collective will be encouraged to host their events and gatherings within the Courthouse and be provided the space rental for free.
