This creative placemaking project will bring together residents of Eadan’s Glen estate and the wider Ferns community to help shape a shared identity for the new development. Through a series of creative activities, participants will explore the idea of the ‘Spirit of Eadan’s Glen’ \u2013 a guardian figure inspired by the area’s landscape, history, folklore and people.<\/span><\/p>\n

The project will include creative workshops, focus groups, public engagement events and a digital survey, leading to the creation of a high-quality publication and a new visual identity that will be used throughout the estate, helping to create a strong sense of place and belonging.<\/span><\/p>\n

Using the creative prompt, ‘Imagine the Spirit of Eadan’s Glen’, people of all ages will be invited to imagine, describe, discuss and draw what they think the spirit of the glen might look like. Storytelling, poetry and conversation will help capture local ideas, memories and imagination.<\/span><\/p>\n

Led by artist Jeffrey Gormly, the project will also involve local storytellers and people with knowledge of Ferns’ history, heritage and natural environment.
