Running since 2022 with Family Resource Centres and community partners, the 2026 edition is a six-week autumn programme combining artistic excellence, intercultural exchange, and mentoring for two local musicians.<\/p>\n<p>Sessions (45 minutes) centre on live, acoustic, voice-led music-making, with gentle participation, repetition, and pacing suited to early-years attention. Lullabies are shared in English, Irish, and languages within the group, with lyrics, translations, and phonetic guides provided. Facilitators are trained in trauma-informed arts practice.<\/p>\n<p>Lullabies are among the oldest musical forms across cultures, serving as artistic expression, emotional regulation, identity transmission, and intergenerational connection. The project supports Aistear&#8217;s &#8220;Identity and Belonging&#8221; theme (Aim 2: group identity linked to family\/community) and aligns with UNCRC Article 31. Van Leer research shows music aids child development and caregiver bonds; further research links musical patterning to infant neurological development.<\/p>\n<p>The key addition for 2026 is a mentoring strand for two local musicians: open call, guided observation, co-facilitation, mentoring, and debriefs.
