The display features a series of sculptural pigeons, including Portlaoise\u2019s first gold pigeon, which was designed to reflect and catch the sunlight. The project was funded through Creative Ireland Laois\u2019 Heritage through Art Grant Scheme and delivered in partnership with Downtown Portlaoise, adding a distinctive and engaging artwork to the town centre.<\/p>\n<p>The installation explores themes of connection, belonging and the relationship between people and place. Inspired by the historic role of carrier pigeons, it draws parallels between traditional methods of communication and today\u2019s digital connectivity, while also highlighting the presence of nature within urban environments.
