Drawing on historical research, archival sources, local folklore, and community memories, the project will examine the profound social, cultural, and human impact of one of the most significant periods in Irish history. Through the creation of immersive soundscapes, original musical compositions, spoken word, and filmic interpretation, it will seek to evoke the lived experiences of those who passed through the workhouse, the resilience of the surrounding community, and the lasting legacy of famine on the landscape and collective memory of the area.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The project will explore themes of poverty, survival, migration, family, loss, and renewal, while also highlighting the rich cultural traditions and local stories that have endured across generations.
