This project will record, celebrate, and present the remarkable story of Paddy Donovan, one of County Laois’s most accomplished sporting figures and a true legend of Irish handball. A lifelong member of Monavea Handball Club, Paddy has enjoyed a distinguished career spanning decades, earning a reputation for excellence, dedication, and sportsmanship at provincial, national, and international levels. His crowning achievement came when he was crowned Men’s 50+ World Handball Singles Champion in Minnesota, USA, a testament to his skill, resilience, and commitment to the sport. <\/p>\n
Alongside this world title, Paddy amassed an extraordinary collection of Leinster and All-Ireland championships across both the 40×20 and 60×30 alley codes, establishing himself as one of the most successful handball players ever produced by Laois.
