By creating opportunities for shared reading experiences, the programme fosters connection, conversation and cultural participation, transforming the city into one large book club.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2019, the initiative has championed the work of Cork writers, publishers and stories connected to the city, building a strong reputation as one of Cork&#8217;s most successful literary engagement programmes. For 2026, the selected title is <em><strong>Filly<\/strong><\/em><strong> by Rosamund Taylor<\/strong>, a genre-defying coming-of-age novel in verse and the first poetry title to be chosen for the programme. Published by Cork-founded <strong>Banshee Press<\/strong>, the selection highlights the strength and diversity of the city&#8217;s contemporary literary scene.<\/p>\n<p>Launched during the <strong>Cork World Book Festival<\/strong>, the programme will be supported by a wide range of public events, discussions and creative activities across the city, encouraging readers to engage with literature in new and unexpected ways.
