Galway Public Libraries propose to celebrate Galway’s status as a designated UNESCO City of Film, with a Film & Literature Festival.\u00a0 The overarching theme of the festival is the art of film inspired by the creative act of reading.\u00a0 Exploring the creative links between reading, writing and film.\u00a0 The festival programme will see Galway Public Libraries hosting creative workshops and panel discussions in the three libraries in Galway City, Westside, Ballybane and Galway City Library.<\/p>\n
Proposed Workshop Themes:<\/p>\n
* Adapting stories for film<\/p>\n
* Acting – using literature to enhance your performance<\/p>\n
* Screen writing<\/p>\n
* Film – production<\/p>\n
Format:<\/p>\n
It is envisaged that each week three guest facilitators will be invited to Galway City Libraries to host a workshop and participate in a panel discussion.<\/p>\n
Each of the three City libraries will host 3 workshops during October 2019, facilitated by one of the guests.<\/p>\n
Each week, one of the libraries will host a panel discussion comprising all three guests.<\/p>\n
