This project is a legacy project from the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage, a year of events, activities and celebrations all around Europe to get people interested and involved in cultural heritage. Heritage is our cultural identity, values and traditions that we have inherited from previous generations, live with today, and pass on to future generations. It includes buildings, monuments, historical and archaeological sites, museum objects, our customs, sports, language,\u00a0music, dance, folklore, crafts and skills, and natural heritage, such as landscapes, wildlife habitats and biodiversity. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In order to reach out to new demographics and audiences and seek engagement from people in a way never previously used by the Heritage Office of Roscommon County Council, this was a social media project. People were asked to follow \u00a0https:\/\/twitter.com\/roscommonie<\/a><\/span><\/span> or https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/roscommon.ie\/<\/a><\/span><\/span> for daily prompts on how you might make a connection with heritage. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
