\u201cFun sa Ph\u00e1irc 2019\u201d, took place on the 26th May 2019 in Gaeltacht na
\nnD\u00e9ise, as a creative fundraising initiative in support of Cumann
\nCam\u00f3ga\u00edochta na Rinne (CCNR). The concept was a family fun day for
\nwhich the physical making of all activities played on the day was
\narranged by CCNR committee members and painted to a fun theme by
\nthe camogie players themselves. The CCNR committee members were
\ntasked with seeking sponsorship of their respective activity boards and
\nmanagement of their activities on the field. We had various members
\nof the community collaborating on how to make the range of activities
\nfrom scratch, thus creating new friendships, realising skills and
\nawakening artistic imagination.
\nThe event was held on a multilingual basis, with Gaeilge to the fore, in
\norder to promote our Gaeltacht and local culture while encouraging
\ninclusion for our ever growing and diverse population. To increase
\ninterest in the event, we held a painting competition between our local
\nnational schools where pupils were given an opportunity to create
\noriginal art pieces depicting their concept of \u201cFun as Ph\u00e1irc\u201d. It resulted
\nin over 450 entries! Entry to the event was subject to a charge but
\nparticipation in all activities was free thereafter. Some activities were
\nfor pure pleasure and enjoyment while some were competitive with
\nprizes to be won for all age groups. It was a resounding success
