{"id":8663,"date":"2022-04-21T15:06:04","date_gmt":"2022-04-21T14:06:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prod-creativeireland.zestydev.com\/event\/born-and-bread\/"},"modified":"2022-04-21T15:06:04","modified_gmt":"2022-04-21T14:06:04","slug":"born-and-bread","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/www.creativeireland.gov.ie\/en\/event\/born-and-bread\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Born and Bread&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span>This will be a participatory event which engages directly with 50+\/- participants including artists, musicians and crafts-persons and will connect with people from the refugee and migrant community to empower sharing and expression of cultural identity for those living in Donegal, \u201cThe Fort of The Foreigners\u201d. <span><span>This project, (<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>&#8220;Born and Bread&#8221;) <span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span><span>with the guidance and advice of Donegal Intercultural Platform, will bring together families and indiviuals from a diverse range of cultural background to share skills, stories and food. <\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span>In a one day participatory event food will be harvested from the garden and brought from our homes, prepared and cooked on site and eaten together as we share stories and traditions of hospitality and bread making. <\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span>Sited at The Potting Shed, this event follows on and develops from the success of \u201cThe Gathering\u201d event staged during the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage. \u201cThe Gathering\u201d presented an insight into, and an opportunity for the public to engage with, a breadth and wealth of local knowledge in areas of food history, heritage and tradition.
