Monaghan County Museum, working in partnership with the Patrick Kavanagh Centre as well as other key partners within the County Council and wider community plan to develop a project aimed at supporting local artists and engaging the community in their history and heritage through the medium of murals.

These murals will reflect various aspects of the history, heritage and folklore of the county. The project will also feature a community engagement element where the artists will interact with the community and use the murals as a catalyst for discussion and exploration of our county’s incredible historical richness and cultural diversity. In doing so we intend to inspire people in our local community to explore their own creativity and expression.
