Harnessing the creative potential of our people and communities is a cornerstone of the Creative Ireland Programme. In each of the 31 local authorities the Creative Ireland Programme has established a Culture and Creativity Team which brings together local expertise in arts, heritage, libraries, enterprise and community engagement, to foster collaboration and spark new initiatives. A local Creative Ireland Co-ordinator has also been appointed for each local authority. Find your local co-ordinator here.
With the help of local artists, creatives, cultural and heritage organisations and community groups across the country, each local authority created a five-year Culture and Creativity Strategy 2017 – 2022. These are designed to enable people are working together to transform their communities, their lives and their environment through creativity.
Dial-a-Seanchaí: The lines are now live
RTÉ Radio 1 - Old Songs Down the Line Dial-a-Seanchaí is now live at 065-6723000 Commissioned by the Clare Arts Office and glór, this unique audio experience celebrates Irish folklore, storytelling, and song. The project is curated and produced by John Lillis. This phone service will allow members of the public to listen to curated Irish folklore stories and songs from six contemporary voices. The phone service will operate between the 1st of October and the 1st of November 2021, and callers will be invited to choose from the list of short recordings by well-known Irish artists and performers.
