Carnegie Arts Centre Young Scribes Club
The CAC Young Scribes Club will draw teenagers (12-18) from Pobal Scoil Inbhear Sceine, Kenmare Family Resource Centre and the youth clubs of Kenmare, Templenoe and surrounding areas.
The concept is to invite teenagers to write about their own experiences anonymously and/or collaboratively ahead of the workshops and for the group to adapt these experiences into spoken word performance, recitations, monologues and theatre shorts.
The adapted scripts will be performed on the evening of the final Saturday workshop to an audience of fellow teens, parents, and other adults, followed by a panel discussion/ Q&A allowing conversation with other teens and adults/parents attending.
The CAC Young Scribes Club will be facilitated by experienced song writer, performer, and music and theatre practitioner April Ferron.
