Undercurrents: A Social and Ecological Story of Leixlip
What stories does the River Rye hold? What memories lie beneath the surface of our village? Undercurrents invites you to explore Leixlip's rich social, ecological and economic history in a whole new way.
Join Leixlip-born artist Ian Nolan and sociologist Dr. Eamonn Slater on a journey of discovery, unearthing the undercurrents of Leixlip’s ongoing history and exploring the complex social and ecological worlds that make up the places we live!
The project starts with captivating walking tours along the River Rye, from Carton House to the Liffey confluence, visiting key locations and unearthing hidden tales of the past.
The tours will be then be followed by a series of engaging workshops in July, with Irish and international artists, exploring our collective creativity. With the support of the artists, you will be invited to explore your own creativity, contributing your unique stories, memories, and perspectives to a special publication that will become a part of Leixlip’s living history!
All events & workshops are FREE and open to everyone! However space is limited, and reservations are advised. To reserve a space please contact organiser Ian Nolan at inolan@live.ie
