Focail Cois Farraige
Taking place from June 12th to 15th, 2025, Focail Cois Farraige is a four-day literary festival in Erris that celebrates the power of storytelling in all its forms. With a rich programme of workshops, author talks, panel discussions, and interactive events, the festival brings together established writers, emerging voices, and literature lovers of all ages.
Participants will explore fiction, poetry, memoir, and scriptwriting through hands-on sessions led by acclaimed authors including Alice Kinsella and Michael Harding. Events such as the Mayo Writers’ Panel and 10 Books You Should Read will highlight contemporary literary trends and essential reading.
The festival also embraces community and culture, with a children’s book club, literary quiz, and relaxed gatherings like Books & Bakes and the Literary Lunch. Irish language and storytelling traditions are celebrated through poetry readings and cultural discussions, enriching the festival’s inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
Focail Cois Farraige offers a platform for creativity, connection, and cultural exchange—empowering participants to share their stories, develop new skills, and build confidence in their artistic voice.
