Cúpla focail, gach lá is a piece by Holly Brennan, an artist from Carlow. 

Cúpla focail, gach lá is work exploring place and home with the
recollection of memory using the Irish language. The Irish language
knows place, emotion and land in such a visceral lens, these are the
feelings I wish to draw upon in this work.

Using inspiration from my personal recollection of the Carlow
landscape and the emotional connection to home - I use text and
paint to explore nostalgia and belonging. Vibrant colours and
dream-like textures embody my recollection and expression.

I feel that the Irish language is the cornerstone in understanding
who I am and the landscape that raised me. Cúpla focail, gach lá is
an ode to growing up in place, and how I have been formed and
shaped by where I am from.
