SI: Tea and talk- Art of Life

‘The Art of Life Project’ seeks to normalise conversations around death, dying and end of life using creative approaches.

‘Tea and Talk’ facilitated by Bailieborough Creative Hub will include an artists talk, exhibition and afternoon tea.  You will  look at Juliana Gilbride’s stunning paintings, hear about her approach to her work and have the opportunity for conversations exploring topics on future care planning and end of life.

Most of us don’t want to think about what will happen after we die because we are living our lives, however the ending of our stories matter too. When we are open to talk out about death and dying with our loved ones, we create an opportunity to engage in meaningful exchanges before it’s too late.

This event is held in Virginia Library as part of National Public Libraries Open Day which invites you to “Take a Closer Look” at your library.    Virginia Library is one of three libraries in Co Cavan which are “Death Positive Libraries” including a collection of recommended reading around death, dying and end of life which has been compiled by Compassionate Communities NI and Irish Hospice Foundation
