This festive season, Kilkenny’s Age of Creativity brings the joy of live music to retirement homes across the county, creating meaningful moments of connection, wellbeing, and celebration. Developed in partnership with the Age Friendly Officer, this bespoke outreach programme responds directly to the needs and interests of our older communities.

Featuring performances by local artists singing traditional songs of the area, the initiative offers a warm, familiar, and engaging experience tailored to each setting. Residents will have the opportunity to shape the experience, ensuring it reflects their preferences and memories.

By supporting local talent and fostering intergenerational connection, this programme promotes inclusion, uplifts spirits, and strengthens community bonds—bringing creativity and comfort to those who need it most during the Christmas season.  This will be through targeting groups who expressed interest early in the year and will not be advertised publicly.
