Songbird Stories is an early year’s music programme inspired by children’s literature.  Using rhymes, fingerplays, vocal exploration, creative movement, musical characterisations, echo and call, response songs, interactive storytelling and percussion instruments, children will be introduced to key musical concepts. The initiative is a collaboration with Music Generation Cavan Monaghan, Local Arts in Education Partnership and Monaghan County Childcare Committee. 

Following a hugely successful pilot programme in the first quarter of 2024 and subsequent consultation with key stakeholders, Creative Monaghan has identified a need/demand to offer the Songbird Stories programme in additional locations across Co. Monaghan. 

Songbird Stories will continue to inspire children aged 1 to 5 years, to be their best musical selves and develop a lifelong love of music and musical storytelling.
