Backstage Theatre will collaborate once again with the LIVE network of venues on the delivery of a literary programme for 2025, as part of our continued efforts to build an audience for literature and provide opportunities for people to engage with writers and poets. Dani Gill is engaged as a Curator to source and co-ordinate the literary programme across the LIVE network.

This year the programme will included an evening of spoken word and music led by Colm Keegan and Erin Fornoff, The event will kick off with a workshop with local aspiring writers and poets, who are then invited to share their work on stage as part of the evening performance.

The literary programme delivered at Backstage in 2025 includes:

• ‘Every Blooming Thing’ on 6th June 2025.
• A ‘Yours Sincerely’ letter writing project between a writer with local participants in Sept 2025
• A Poetry Day online sharing and book giveaway.
• The Give a Poem, Get a Poem workshop programme for school children in October 2025
