Weaving Words and Pictures – a creative celebration on St Brigid’s Eve
A year after launching the community arts project Bringing St. Brigid’s Cloak to Life, we are pleased to announce that the Cloak will become part of the County Museum’s permanent collection. The Cloak will formally go on display this St. Brigid’s Eve, Saturday, 31st January.
Creative arts facilitators, Morag Donald and Bee Smith, who jointly led the Brigid’s Cloak project, will be holding arts and poetry workshops to celebrate St. Brigid’s Eve this 31st January 2026. Morag Donald will lead a needle felting workshop where participants will create a Brigid symbol like ones on the Brigid’s Cloak on display.
Writer and poet Bee Smith will lead a Brigid themed poetry workshop and facilitate printing a symbol on fabric for you to hang as a Brat Bríd that evening.
