Grange Meadows Shared Ground
The Shared Ground project is a series of creative, hands-on workshops in summer 2026, inviting local residents to re-imagine and co-design shared green spaces within their estate and at the local Resource Centre. Through artistic map-making, collaborative planning, and practical planting, participants will shape pockets of their shared green areas, focused on perennial edible and medicinal species, creating a lasting, community-led resource that supports biodiversity, wellbeing, and local food resilience.
Led by regenerative designer Carolanne Moroney, this project is rooted in the participation of local residents. Open and inclusive, the workshops will blend creativity with practical action, beginning with observation, discussion, and artistic expression. These sessions will evolve into collaborative map-making, capturing ideas, memories, and aspirations. Participants will then move into co-design, identifying areas for perennial planting, rewilding, before bringing these ideas to life through hands-on planting. The perennial focus supports long-term productivity with less intensive upkeep. Residents can get involved by expressing interest through the Grange Resource Centre, with flexible participation across all sessions. Ultimately, this project is about more than transforming a green space. It creates a platform for connection, creativity, and shared responsibility, laying the groundwork for a garden and a community that will continue to grow beyond summer 2026.
