This project brings together two Roscommon community groups—Corlann West Region and the Syrian Youth Group Ballaghaderreen—for a series of inclusive dance workshops led by Undercurrent. Each group will take part in three workshops, with an additional shared session at Roscommon Arts Centre as part of the Between Earth & Sky tour.

Developed in response to both groups’ interest in inclusive dance, the workshops explore movement, creativity and connection through non‑verbal communication, guided improvisation, and relaxation practices. Participants of all mobility levels, cultural backgrounds and languages are welcomed.

The Syrian Youth Group workshops feature guest cultural dance artists from Undercurrent, offering tasters in Afro Beat, Zimbabwean cultural dance, and Sean Nós/Irish dance. Sessions end with the group sharing Syrian traditional dances, followed by reflection and gentle wind‑down practices.

Across all workshops, participants will have space for creative expression through movement, writing, drawing and shared discussion. An Undercurrent associate facilitator will support each session, with evaluations at the end to deepen learning and inform future work.
