Settling In

Settling In is a creative wellbeing programme delivered in secondary schools and designed specifically for First Year students. Using process drama, the workshops provide young people with space to reflect on their early experiences of secondary school, exploring expectations versus reality and the academic, social and environmental changes they are encountering.

The programme places a strong emphasis on relationships, belonging and personal development, supporting students to examine peer connections, friendships and their sense of place within the school community. Drama-based activities encourage participation, collaboration and self-expression in a safe and inclusive environment.

Through guided creative exploration, students are invited to pause, check in with themselves, share experiences and build stronger connections with their peers. Settling In supports positive mental health by fostering reflection, empathy and open communication, while helping students recognise challenges, acknowledge progress and develop confidence as they navigate their new school journey.

Young people will be invited through the school database.
