Clifden Summer Print Project
Local artist and experienced workshop facilitator, Clare Henderson, will deliver the art and print workshops in Clifden Town hall every Tuesday or Wednesday morning for 5 weeks over the months of July and August. The workshops will be based around drawing, paper craft and printmaking. There is a different theme every day to ensure that if a participant misses a workshop/s the participant will not fall behind.
Day 1-drawing outdoors
Day 2-printing leaves and flowers
Day 3-drawing from life
Day 4-tetrapak printing
Day 5-book projects
The project is aimed at teenagers who are either beneficiaries of temporary protection (BOTP) or children of international protection applicants (IPA). These two groups have separate personal histories and backgrounds and therefore providing an integration opportunity for these groups through art making and play will be one of many positive outcomes of this project.
Clifden Arts Festival sees the Clifden Summer print project as an essential community activity which will promote well being and improve local knowledge through outdoor drawing sessions, provide educational opportunities and skills to the participants, while also developing integration opportunities amongst the participants.
