Tobar Well project

The Well Project is a free community art and craft engagement programme celebrating creativity, heritage, and place. Taking place over the next six to eight months, the project will deliver a series of free creative workshops showcasing the talents of local creatives.

Workshops will be led by:

  • Ruairí Carroll – Sculpting
  • Alice Bennett – Art and Creative Writing
  • Rachel Burke – Visual Art
  • Colin O’Drisceoil – Archaeology
  • Eleanor Cantwell – History
  • Róisín Bolger – Irish Music and Ceoltás
Participants will explore creative writing, outdoor painting, and flower arranging in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The programme will also feature heritage walks and talks focusing on the history and archaeology of Threecastles, encouraging creative responses to the local landscape and environment.

The project will culminate in an Autumn Celebratory Weekend, bringing the community together for:

  • An exhibition of participant artwork, sculpture, and floral displays
  • Spoken word performances of newly created writing
  • A Ceoltás concert featuring both children and adults
The Well Project offers an opportunity to connect with creativity, celebrate local talent, and strengthen community ties through shared artistic expression inspired by place, history, and nature.
