Following the initial 2023 pilot in Carlow Central Branch, the initiative has proved so successful that it now runs in all four libraries in County Carlow. This expansion was driven by the recognition of singing's positive impact on both mental and physical well-being, and its popularity among library patrons.
The program aims to foster positive emotions, calmness, energy, and happiness. Research has shown that singing can boost mood, alleviate stress, and create a sense of community. By providing these workshops, the library service is actively promoting the health and well-being of the community it serves.
