Ecoliteracy Training Programme to strengthen environmental awareness and empower informed action among local community groups. Delivered through sessions led by eco‑poet and environmental writer Grace Wells and Dr. Cathy Fitzgerald, a leading advocate for holistic ecoliteracy education, the programme will introduce accessible, arts‑led sustainability learning into community structures.

Objectives

• Strengthen environmental awareness among council staff and community groups.
• Introduce ecoliteracy to support decision‑making processes and community projects.
• Empower local groups to work towards co‑creating creative solutions to environmental challenges.
• Foster collaboration between Kilkenny County Council and community partners.

Community consultations will take place with specific community and Tidy Towns groups and groups will be specifically targeted.
