Storytelling is one of the oldest forms of entertainment known to humankind, yet it remains one of the most immediate and vibrant. Few things can capture the heart and stir the emotions like a tale well told.

This autumn in County Monaghan, we will be sharing such tales. The third Drumlin Storytelling Festival celebrates our oldest art form in a fresh and engaging way. Over three days, audiences can enjoy a packed programme of storytelling events in some of the county’s most distinctive and iconic venues.

For the 2026 Drumlin Storytelling Festival, Drumlin Yarnspinners is delighted to welcome guest storytellers Kate Corkery, Seosamh Ó Maolalaí and Riikka Palonen. Prepare to be transported backwards, forwards and sideways through time; to journey into other worlds; to venture beneath the sea; and to travel wherever the storyteller’s imagination may lead. Characters of every kind are waiting to meet you along the way. After all, it is not whether a story is true that matters most, but whether there is truth within the story!
