Coordinated by Andrea Soto, a Guatemalan abstract artist living in Monaghan, this series of workshops will provide participants with the opportunity to use non-representational forms, colours, and textures to express cultural identity, traditions, and values. The workshops will encourage them to connect with heritage on a deeper more personal level. Guided by Andrea, they will explore how traditional patterns and motifs can be reinterpreted and will use colours and shapes with cultural significance to represent their heritage. Andrea will incorporate aspects of her own work and story into the project. The project will provide workshop opportunities for both children and adults.
