Age-Friendly Ageism Project
Age Friendly Louth continues its continuing its collaboration with a drama facilitator in challenging ageism in Co Louth. In 2024 participants took part in workshops and delivered an inspiring video recording, which celebrated positive ageing. The video recording has been used as part of a wider campaign to highlight issues of ageism and challenge ageism in Co Louth.
The first phase of this project was delivered in Dundalk in 2024 and is now expanding to Drogheda with the drama facilitator delivering workshops with older adults from the area.
In line with strategic priorities, the project objectives and planned outcomes are centred around supporting creativity across Louth, including creating pathways for older persons as a means of supporting positive ageing and enhancing health and wellbeing.
This project will offer regional evidence of the success of creative arts projects for individuals of all ages and the potential for transferability to other communities, while also contributing to the limited evidence in this area.
