Art Class
This project aims to run a two-hour art class every Friday over a 10-week period, repeated for three terms. The classes will cater to 10-15 participants per session, introducing them to various artistic mediums, including watercolours, acrylics, and oil paints.
Designed primarily for members of the Active Retirement Group, these classes will provide a social and creative outlet, particularly for older adults who can no longer engage in high-impact activities. A needs analysis revealed strong interest in an ongoing art program, making this an ideal initiative.
Participants, aged 65 and over, will have the opportunity to exhibit their work to the broader community, fostering confidence, self-expression, and social engagement.
Location: Knocknacarra Community Rooms
Duration: Three 10-week terms
This initiative will help older adults stay socially connected, creatively engaged, and empowered through artistic expression.
