At the Heart of Castlerea-A Short Community Film on Trinity Arts Centre
The film will trace the journey taken by a group of volunteers to restore and repurpose this 250 year old historic building into a vibrant and unique venue at the heart of Castlerea. The building previously a church has strong historical links with the Wilde family (William and his son Oscar) and it is where our first president of Ireland Dr Douglas Hyde was baptized. The film will explore the Centre’s role in supporting creativity and culture, and its importance as a place where people come together across generations and cultures. It will be co-created with the local community, featuring artists, volunteers, audiences, young people, older residents, and people from diverse backgrounds.
The completed film will be screened publicly in Trinity Arts Centre and shared online as a lasting cultural resource for the town.
