A maintenance and energy upgrading pilot project in Gort town, building  on the collaborative work carried out by Baile the scientific committee of ICOMOS and Burren Lowlands over the past four years, supported by Galway County Council. The project envisaged for 2020 focuses a number of aspects which include: maintenance and energy upgrades of the buildings in the historic town’s core to support the conservation of historic towns and villages; an exchange of experience; to encourage training, research and publications; and to provide technical assistance in relevant areas.
