BE-LONGING
A contemporary collage of dance, drama, spoken word and song, BE-LONGING explores some of the lasting legacies of slavery and colonial occupation. But the play also tells stories of romance, friendship and finding purpose in life; of cherishing respect and equality between men and women; of inspirational African entrepreneurship and the realisation that there is power in partnership, not only between individuals but between nations and continents.
Featuring two young, supremely talented African-European “bridge builders”: Ghanaian dancer and actress Gifty Wiafe, and Emmanuel Edoror, dancer and choreographer born in Nigeria. Their spellbinding performance explores new ways of creating a genuine sense of community, partnership, and belonging across cultural, geographical and social divides.
Date: Thursday 17th November 2022
Time: 8pm
Tickets available from Garter Lane Arts Centre
THE PLAY IS SUITABLE FOR ADULTS AND STUDENTS FROM AGE 14 UPWARDS.
