Birds of a Feather is bringing women from Ballinasloe, Belfast, Ennis and Inishbofin together for a multi-annual project that encompasses craft, enterprise, and story sharing.

The majority of the participants have never experienced all island collaborative working. These women come from a broad variety of backgrounds, Catholic, Protestant, Nationalist, Loyalist, Ethnic Minorities, Travellers, Inner City working class, Islanders and people with physical disabilities and mild forms of dementia. The project will allow meaningful relationships to develop; create safe space for open discussions on political, cultural and religious beliefs and, over time, create mutual understanding and respect of all to build consensus around a shared future. 

It is managed by Clare County Council Creative Ireland office, in partnership with Galway Public Libraries.
