80+ Women of Glenmore women's shed: Reclaiming River, Heritage & Art
This vibrant community art project invites the women of Glenmore to dive into their village’s rich fishing heritage through creativity and collaboration.
Led by artists Imogen Stafford and Betty McGuire, participants will:
Sculpt a wire Prong boat with fishermen figures
Yarn bomb nets, fish, and river-inspired designs
Curate an exhibition of stories, photos, and folklore celebrating Glenmore’s fishing past
The final sculpture will be proudly installed in the village with support from Bothán and Glenmore Tidy Towns, becoming a lasting tribute to the River Barrow and the generations who lived by it.
This is more than art—it’s placemaking, storytelling, and pride in action. A celebration of women reconnecting with their roots and shaping the future of their community.
