Callan Open Doors 2025 is an inclusive, community-driven festival that bridges the gap between art and the public. This unique event invites the community into art spaces, brings artists into community spaces and showcases the arts in the public realm.

Festival Highlights:

Youth Creative Engagement Projects: With the support of Creative Ireland Kilkenny, this year's festival features two ambitious projects designed to engage and inspire young people.

Collaborative Visual Art and Sound Installation: Artist Maurice Caplice will lead a collaborative project, blending visual art and sound to create an immersive installation. This youth arts project explores the concept of "doom-scrolling" - obsessively checking online news for updates, especially on social media feeds, with the expectation that the news will be bad. Using this narrative as a starting point, the project aims to deliver a message of peace. Coláiste Abhainn Rí, the general public in Callan and three professional artists will work together to create this thought-provoking installation for Callan Open Doors 2025.
