Colour Field is a vibrant new garden space at Workhouse Union, developed in collaboration with PrintBlock Callan to cultivate plants that naturally produce colour. Curated by Hollie Kearns, this seasonal programme explores sustainable art practices through natural dyeing and printmaking using locally grown dye flowers and plants.
Facilitated by Hollie Kearns and PrintBlock Callan artist and technician Michelle MacMahon, the workshops and talks invite participants to engage with the land, learn traditional techniques, and explore the environmental impact of artistic materials. By nurturing an artistic community around the garden and outdoor dye kitchen, Colour Field encourages deeper connections to nature and promotes climate-conscious creativity.
This initiative highlights the potential of regenerative practices in the arts and supports a growing movement towards sustainability, biodiversity, and community resilience.
