Exciting Environmental Workshops for Young People in Slieverue
Young people are consciously engaging in environmental projects through these vibrant and creative workshops:Printing Party
A lively two-part workshop where participants create festive bunting using gelliprints and color. The first session focuses on printing, while the second involves cutting and assembling. This joyful space is perfect for meeting others and getting party-ready.AirBug & Bee
In this workshop, participants start by creating small solo bug hotels to understand their structure and purpose. They then collaborate on a larger shared habitat, mirroring the shift from individual efforts to collective care—a key aspect of sustaining community. Discussions will explore how different species coexist and rely on each other, just like humans in a healthy society.Cap Kraken
An upbeat two-session workshop where teens come together to create a large octopus mural using collected plastic bottle caps. This activity turns everyday waste into a vibrant, collaborative artwork. Through guided reflection, mindful planning, and hands-on crafting, the group explores the theme of reduce, reuse, recycle—encouraging small changes in everyday habits, fostering connections with others, and promoting creative community engagement.Free but booking required internall through the Slieverue youth group.
