Connecting Kerry's Wildlife: Hedgerows & Trees in the Kingdom - Cromane Hedge School Workshop
A creative workshop responding to and learning from our local hedgerows. Explore a range of activities including text and sculpture to channel the voices of different species that make up and depend upon the hedgerow.
Thinking about the 'scoil scairte' and other forms of education that relate to our living environment, this workshop will approach the hedgerow itself as both a school and teacher, asking what can we learn by listening to and looking closer at the histories and ongoing activities of these ecological corridors.
This event will take place in dialogue with the next community day held at Local Roots in Cromane.
Local Roots aims to develop and promote locally owned woodlands and hedgerows, enhancing biodiversity and sustainability through seed collection, propagation and supply of certified Irish provenance trees, and through providing practical help and support for community powered woodlands creation.
