The Cork Basant Festival in Carrigaline, Co. Cork, is an annual family-friendly event celebrating the South Asian spring festival of Basant (meaning yellow) through kite flying, kite crafting, art exhibitions, South Asian food, dance, and music. 

Founded by artist Amna Walayatas part of her Creative Ireland funded, Creative Producer residence with Cork County Council, the festival brings people from diverse backgrounds together to share in the cultural traditions of kite flying, which is central to the original Basant festival. It is supported by  Cork County Council's Culture and Creativity team through there Creative Communities programme and aims to be an inclusive event for the community.
