Creative Archeology

A collaboration between Monaghan County Museum, Monaghan Heritage Office and the School of Irish Archeology,  the 'Creative Archeology' project uses the medium of archaeology as a conduit to creativity. The project will focus on ancient creative designs in the museum collection, through interactive archaeological workshops and a dedicated summer camp. All creativity grows from other ideas, this project inspire the various project participants to explore their rich archaeological past while learning from the creatives of the who explored the mysteries of their own reality thousands of years ago. 

The project aims to: 

  • Use the medium of creativity to expose project participants to the wonder and excitement of exploring your regions cultural history through archaeology.
  • Provide an accessible and engaging series of events that are open to all sectors of the community
  • Inspire the project participants creativity in using all available resources around them
  • Have fun through archaeology
  • Motivate project participants to explore a potential career in archaeology
