Creative Carlow’s Holy Project- Life Springs Eternal is an inter-generational heritage project, assessing the history and heritage of Holy Wells in County Carlow. The assessment is a combination of the heritage significance and curative traditions associated with Holy Wells and the development of a way to assess the role Holy Wells play in our everyday wee-being. The project will invite the public to visit two specific Holy Wells and be part of a quantitative study to assess the impact on people well-being through visiting a Holy Well. 

Clifton Redmond (Poet) has produced a series of poems about the first phase of the project. We will be publishing the series of poems that track the development of the project and the heritage of the Holy Wells in 2026.

As part of this year’s project, we are working towards the development of a suitable metric to see how we can demonstrate the role that engaging with heritage can have on people’s wellbeing in County Carlow. Aisling O’Connor (Psychologist/ Counsellor) will be engaging with those present about their wellbeing and encouraging people to undertake/ get involved a simple questionnaire to assess their wellbeing during the day.
