Creative Companions: Art for Wellbeing
The Tubbercurry Men’s Shed Painting and Art Class project has been developed in response to the interests and social needs of members of the Shed. Many of the men involved are retired, living alone, or seeking new outlets for self-expression and connection. The project aims to provide a programme of weekly art workshops led by a qualified local artist. The sessions will introduce participants to ceramics, painting, drawing, colour theory, and creative experimentation. The emphasis on creativity, encouragement, and shared activity directly supports mental and emotional wellbeing. The workshops will take place in the Shed, making it familiar, comfortable, and welcoming to all members.
The Tubbercurry Men’s Shed Painting and Art Class will foster creativity, confidence, and connection, enhancing both personal wellbeing and the cultural life of the local community.
