Creative Workshops for Children with Dyslexia
This project will deliver a series of inclusive creative art workshops for children with dyslexia in the Metropolitan area. The project responds directly to research by the Dyslexia Ireland, which identified a priority need expressed by parents: access to activities that support self-esteem development for children with dyslexia.
By using visual, tactile, and process-based art activities, the workshops will provide an accessible, positive learning experience that complements the library’s role as a welcoming, inclusive space for children and families in the local community.
A series of facilitated workshops will take place in Tramore, Ardkeen, and Carrickphierish Library using drawing, painting, collage, and mixed-media approaches. Activities will be multi-sensory, adaptable, and designed to suit a range of learning styles. Sessions will be delivered by Kiki Roosli, a professional artist with specialist experience in inclusive and neurodivergent practice. Kiki has undertaken training in dyslexia awareness and has extensive experience working with children who are autistic and neurodivergent. Her practice is grounded in creating safe, encouraging creative environments where children can explore their abilities and express themselves without pressure.
