Creativity in Healthcare

As part of an ongoing commitment to supporting health and wellbeing through the arts, the Meath Creative Ireland Programme is proud to collaborate with Meath Arts Office, Meath Libraries and the HSE on a project bringing creativity directly into the workplace for healthcare staff.

Throughout autumn 2025, Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan will host a series of creative drop-in sessions for hospital staff during their lunch breaks. These informal, welcoming sessions are designed to offer staff a meaningful pause in their day through engagement with a variety of creative activities.

This project builds on the success of previous work carried out in 2024 and is grounded in a growing body of national and international research showing the positive impact of creativity on mental health and wellbeing. It reflects Creative Ireland’s core belief that participation in arts and culture can foster individual resilience and build stronger communities.

The content and format of the sessions have been shaped directly by hospital staff. A recent survey invited feedback on their interests and availability, ensuring that the sessions are responsive, relevant, and accessible to as many staff as possible.

This project is supported by the Meath Creative Ireland Programme in partnership with Meath Arts Office, Meath Libraries, and the HSE.
